Support working relationships and effective communication with the Multidisciplinary team in both the in-patient and community service. Interact with external agencies i.e. Social Care Responsible for the assessment and planning of the midwifery care needs of clients in the hospital and community environment. Attending to clients who have limited or no English arranging interpreting services to assist with communication Receive telephone calls from GPs, laboratory staff or other health workers regarding concerns or risk to client or unborn childs health + appropriate referrals Input data onto the Maternity Information Systems Utilise hospital information technology systems to obtain patient information or test results Adhere to HCS Polices in relation to information governance and Patient confidentiality Clinical Risk assessment and examination of patients, monitoring of observations and reporting or escalating of abnormal findings to medical staff or midwife in charge Provide support and care to the woman during the antepartum/intrapartum and postpartum period, supporting the normal physiological process.
Identify and report any changes from the norm or emergency situations to senior midwife or medical practitioner To assist and support the medical staff with medical procedures Assist experienced practitioners in neonatal resuscitation Caring for clients with medical complications who require increased dependency on health professionals during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum period To provide midwifery expertise and advice, working as an autonomous practitioner accountable to the senior midwife
