1. Oversee the day-to-day management of incidents reported through the Datix system, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to identify, investigate, and provide recommendations under the guidance of the Care Group Quality and Safety Governance Manager. Foster a positive governance culture that facilitates the timely handling of clinical incidents, including near misses. 2.

Create sustainable action logs for all recommendations and deliver presentations at departmental meetings to ensure that lessons learned are fully integrated into our services. Additionally, stay abreast of national policy drivers through horizon scanning to facilitate the implementation of changes to local departmental guidelines, such as NICE guidance. 3. Collaborate with the Care Group Quality and Safety Governance Manager to establish a comprehensive approach to quality and safety, focusing on the standardization of clinical governance and risk management processes.

4. Cultivate a culture of openness and transparency to enhance clinical safety and quality. Encourage staff to report and communicate openly, utilizing various communication and engagement techniques to promote patient and representative involvement. Employ supportive system thinking to integrate human factors into safety communications and activities.

5. Leverage information and intelligence from across the care group to provide leadership and direction in Quality Governance, Effectiveness, and Quality Improvements. 6. Foster strong working relationships with clinical colleagues and collaborate with Organizational Governance Leads to develop programs of work that ensure the Care Group meets local and national outcomes.

7. Partner with senior midwifery management, care group leadership, and the multidisciplinary team to advance the broader Maternity operational and strategic agendas. 8. Demonstrate professional behaviour and attitude as a positive role model for colleagues and service users.

Act in a manner that reflects respect for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality. 9. Attend, coordinate, and chair relevant care group meetings and committees as delegated, providing assurance and compliance reports as required. 10.

Support learning from incidents and investigations, monitoring maternity action plans to ensure that lessons learned are integrated into practice within and across the care groups.
