Job Summary:
Preparing the monthly management accounts, production of financial reports and QSR for the VBU in addition to financial analysis and insight for the VBU

Job Description:

• To oversee the management accounts process

• Preparation of monthly management accounts for the VBU

• Produce the monthly financial reports with commentary and insight

• Produce the QSR submission for the VBU

• Support the statutory accounting and audit process

Working with the finance team, ensure management accounts are prepared in line with the monthly timetable

• Preparation of monthly reports for stakeholders

• Work with the VBU FD to prepare the QSR

• Oversee the Assistant Management Accountant

• Preparation & posting of journals: accruals, prepayments, revenue recognition & balance sheet

• A thorough awareness of the operational activities in the business

• Ensure the balance sheet schedules are up to date & anomalies investigated

• Balance Sheet account reconciliations, including the management of the rental contracts and deferred incomes

• Preparation of divisional management accounts & variance analysis for the VBU

• Support the statutory accounting and audit process

• Ad hoc analysis & projects

• Yearend audit requests & reconciliations

• Preparation & submission of VAT returns

• People management, performing 1-2-1s and annual reviews, involvement in objective setting

• Coaching, mentoring and developing employees

• Ad-hoc requests

• Any other reasonable duties are requested by management
