What you'll be doing:

  • Leadership of Engineering and Information Management and Technology (IM&T) resources in fulfilment of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) strategy and programme plans to develop, implement, maintain, and enhance the overall digital product information management systems
  • Leading, agreeing and delivering the Naval Ships PLM application and technology enhancement and upgrade plans and ensure alignment with broader Maritime/Corporate plans
  • Developing and implementing improved PLM process and quality measures into the Naval Ships business management system and ensure the improvements are realised across the business
  • Promoting and overseeing the strategic relationships between external entities, including technology providers and partner organisations providing PLM solutions into Naval Ships
  • Producing, managing, and gaining stakeholder approval of the PLM Strategy/Management Plans
  • Seeking leading practice and LfE from other BAE Systems business units and external sources
  • Defining PLM capabilities and how these underpin Naval Ships product strategies and growth opportunities
  • Providing advice and guidance on all aspects of PLM to senior business leaders and their teams and provide the PLM input into the integrated business plan

Your skills and experiences:

  • Qualified Chartered Engineer or in the advanced stages of gaining Chartership
  • Industry leading PLM expertise and qualifications across strategy, innovation, people, process, information management and technology for highly complex engineering products
  • Industry leading understanding of complex engineering requirements for PLM and how they relate to business objectives
  • Expertise within both Engineering and Information Management & Technology (IM&T) to deliver complex capability across a digital thread to support programme objectives
  • Proven expertise in the use of product information across a digital thread in highly complex product design/build engineering environments
  • Proven expertise with successful senior management engagement on complex product information management challenges in relation to business objectives across all business functions, e.g. Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and IM&T
  • Proven ability to create and lead multi-disciplined teams to successfully deliver PLM

Using the newest cutting-edge technology, our PLM Capability team provides complete digital capabilities for complex engineering products.

In this amazing opportunity, you will build the enabling organisation and represent Naval Ships in both functional and delivery leadership for the effective business-wide deployment and administration of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). You will hold the position of Head of PLM Capability Centre.
