Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly visible and inspirational Head of Operations to lead the delivery of our Advanced Net Zero Innovation Centre (ANZIC) facility. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) to grow the operations, teams, and business impact of this significant investment.

About the Role:

  • Lead the facility on the ground with high internal and external visibility, deputising for the SRO as required.
  • Provide leadership and management across ANZIC's operations and services, including facilities, workshop technical resources, and staff.
  • Be responsible for supporting the growth of the capability (people + facility).
  • Provide line management, budget maintenance, and strategic planning across the ANZIC team.
  • Be a member of the ANZIC Operational Board, providing input to and development of the Centre's vision and strategic plans for operational excellence and activities aligned with the University's objectives.
  • Engage with local and international industrial partners, funding agencies, and prospective partners/clients, expanding the portfolio of opportunities.
  • Ensure that the operational activities of the Centre run efficiently and that all users are able to deliver their projects with operational excellence.

About You:

  • Have significant experience in engineering or operational management.
  • Have worked in a similar environment before.
  • Have a desire to deliver operational excellence, engage across the organisation, and be visible internally and externally delivering a high-profile role.
