Solar Winds Administrator
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires a Solar Winds Administrator to be based in their client's office in Leeds, UK.
This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work onsite 1-2 days per week.
This is a 6-Months temporary contract to start ASAP
Day rate: Competitative Market rate
This role is critical for customer day to day business operations as any events/issues will be triggered through this tool. Efficient management and optimization will lead to proactive monitoring resulting in reduction of downtime for critical customer systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as SolarWinds administrator
- Review existing documentation and playback the understanding to customer
- Should be comfortable with creating and delivering presentations on monitoring strategies, improvements and updates
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
- Manage customer escalation
- Participate in pro-active problem management throughout the supported services
- Ensure closure of problems within the accepted timeframe (agreed SLAs)
- Provide support for user queries, project handovers, and call out support
- Provide assistance to offshore in various project/enhancement execution phases, as appropriate
- Quality reporting and work towards achieving high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI)
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with SolarWinds administration
- Clear understanding of SolarWinds architecture/functionality/components
- Hands on experience in SolarWinds configuration - installing & configuring agents, pollers, policies & alerts
- Expertise involving MIBs, OIDs, and WMI performance counters to troubleshoot issues
- Experience in administration and support of SolarWinds modules like NPM, SAM, NTA, VNQM, WPM, NCM
- Planning and implementing tool/component version upgrades
- Experience in data engineering with SolarWinds for both ingestion and extraction
- Hands on experience in integrating SolarWinds with ITSM tools like ServiceNow
- Basic knowledge on Windows and Linux Operating systems & VMs
- Optimization and improvement of the monitoring

- Good communicator at all levels both oral and written
- Proficient in problem analysis
- Proficient in incident, problem & change management
- Experience in work planning/task management
- Passion to provide high level of service to client

- Ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines under pressure

- Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexibility on working hours, if required (to meet urgent customer demand)
