An exciting opportunity has arisen within the MHA/MCA Team at Wakefield Adult Social Crae to apply for the post of the MCA/DoLS Lead on a full time basis, though jb share applicants are welcome. This post is established at G11. Joining a well established and supportive team of practice Leads, AMHP/BIAs and admin staff, you will provide advice, information and support to Social Workers, other LA staff and at times, staff from other public sector organisations within district as to how the MCA works in and impacts on practice. You will liaise with care homes to advise on the appropriateness of DoLS referrals and submission of DoLS forms. With colleagues you will triage and categorise DoLS referrals and quality assure the work of BIAs and DoLS approved Doctors. AMHP qualified or mental health experienced candidates may also offer support to staff around mental health or MHA issues and may assist with managing the AMHP rota. There is an expecation of flexible working to cover the work of other Leads at times.There will also be an opportunity to design and to deliver or co-deliver training, particularly to care homes but also to LA staff.
