Job Description

Financial Accountant

Full Time

London/Hybrid - 3 days on site a week

Why Rolls-Royce?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance Limited (RRPF) a joint venture company between Rolls-Royce PLC and GATX Corporation based in central London.

RRPF is a jet engine leasing company with the largest global portfolio of Rolls-Royce aero engines, providing medium and long term spare engine leasing and bespoke financial solutions to airlines, aircraft lessors and OEMs. We support over 50 customers worldwide with a portfolio of over 500 jet engines.

Joining RRPF, you will be part of a dynamic and fast-moving finance team, within a very agile business, whose primary objectives are to manage and improve financial and management reporting, to ensure all compliance obligations are met and to be effective and trusted business partners to the wider team. You will work very closely with finance team, the CFO and wider business stakeholders, communicating with senior management daily.

The role will report to the Director of Treasury and Financial Planning and Analysis.

Work with us and we'll welcome you into an inclusive culture, one that invests in your continuous learning and development, and gives you access to a wide breadth and depth of experience.

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and remarkable benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It's a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing:

In this role you will manage the AP ledger to ensure all invoices are recorded, accurate cost reporting is completed and suppliers are paid in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for producing all internal and statutory supplier reporting for review by the Directors of Finance and CFO. You will be responsible for ensuring all processes are followed when setting up new suppliers.
  • Cash Management and reporting - You will be responsible for managing all our cash and bank accounts and debt book, including producing weekly rolling cash forecasts. You will be required to make debt service payments on a quarterly basis to ensure we meet obligations in our debt agreements. You will also lead bank account access reviews and ensure bank mandates and signatory lists are maintained and up-to-date.
  • Purchase Order Process - You will work closely with the Director - Treasury and FP&A and wider business to drive adoption of a single PO model for the business. You will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and running of the process, including performing reconciliations and ensuring PO approvals and rejections are given in a timely fashion.
  • AR - Support the Operations teams to ensure monthly billings are raised in a timely fashion, and by reviewing lease and sale agreements to ensure that transactions are correctly recorded on RRPF's accounting and contract management systems.
  • Reporting - Support and improve month-end close processes, driving improvement and automation of management accounts production. You will also have responsibility for timely production of monthly reconciliations and monthly variance analysis feeding into monthly management accounts and to help prepare/consolidate budgets and forecasts in accordance with JV partners' timetables. You will also jointly act as a point of contact for our auditors, dealing with audit queries within agreed deadlines.
  • Continuous improvement - A key aspect of this role will be to continually identify areas for improvement and to be proactive in implementing such changes. In addition, we want to make the month end close process more efficient and to improve the monthly results pack for senior management. You will also have the opportunity to support various ad-hoc and transactional projects.
  • Tax - You will be involved in preparing monthly VAT returns and supporting tax advisors with annual corporate tax compliance process.
Who we're looking for:

Being a part of Rolls-Royce you'll know we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. These principles form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.
  • Qualified / Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CA) with experience in industry particularly managing AP ledgers.
  • Excellent accounting knowledge.
