Abbot Fire Group Ltd is a multi-award-winning Fire Protection Company operating throughout the United Kingdom.

We are looking to employ a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant to join our team. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the Finance Manager by assisting with various financial tasks and ensuring accurate and timely financial record-keeping.

The individual will need to have good people and communication skills and be able to work with a variety of different people.

**Main Responsibilities**

To assist in the main day to day running of the company.
- Inputting information into the Sales & Purchase Ledgers using the Sage Line 50 Accounting Package.
- Raising sales invoices and credit notes in a timely manner.
- Carrying out Credit control in line with company procedures.
- Check and Process Supplier Invoices in a timely manner.
- Assist with processing Supplier Payments.
- Dealing with customer and supplier queries.
- Petty Cash Monthly Reconciliation.
- Updating Gabriel (the company’s bespoke CRM System) with contract details and invoicing.
- Assist with reconciling bank and credit card accounts.
- Assist with monthly reconciling supplier statements/accounts.
- Deal with day-to-day accounting problems.
- Assist with month end process.
- To actively comply with and promote all working policies and procedures.
- Use of Excel Spreadsheets for analysing data.
- To assist in any other duties as required from time to time.

**Skills Required**:

- Strong computer literacy, numeracy, and system skills (e.g. Sage, Excel).
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable team player with a positive attitude.
- Professional accounting qualification, such as AAT preferred but not essential.

**Other**
- To uphold confidentiality at all times regarding Abbot Fire Group Ltd’s clients and business.
- Ability to cover for colleagues during absences.
- Any other relevant duties commensurate with the role and responsibilities of the post as required by the directors.

**Hours: 9am - 5pm with an hour for lunch**

**25 days holiday plus bank holidays**

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
