    I am currently recruiting a Managing Director for a leading and prestigious UK manufacturer of engineered components who supply into a range of mid volume OEM customers into sectors such as automotive and defence throughout the UK and globally.

    As the Managing Director, you will lead commercial, financial and operational activities for the UK manufacturing business from their HQ in the Midlands, UK.

    Job Description

  • Full P&L responsibility for the UK manufacturing business.
Install a positive working culture of financial performance and profit growth.
Lead, mentor and develop the senior leadership team across production, engineering, quality, sales, health and safety and human resources.
Develop and maintain excellent health and safety standards throughout the business, consistent product quality, manufacturing efficiency and best practice.
Ensure the manufacturing business is both a safe and inclusive place to work and compliant to all regulatory requirements.​
Drive operational performance by using Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost drivers.
Conduct regular OEM customer visits and site visits to ensure customer satisfaction.

The Successful Applicant

A proven track record as a Managing Director within a manufacturing environment where engineered components are designed and manufactured for mid volume OEM customers.
Track record of growing business profitably for SME manufactures, (circa £20M to £100M t/o in size).
Hands on/can do attitude with an open and likeable personality with honesty and integrity.
Can operate equally effectively in the boardroom and on the shop floor.
People focused down to earth approach who has flexibility of thinking with that would suit an SME environment.
A background in mechanical engineering would also be highly preferred for this role.
