The Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated administrator to join our Undergraduate Administration team.

The Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics is a world-leading centre for teaching and research in language and linguistics comprising of six Sections: French, German, Italian, Slavonic, Spanish & Portuguese, and Theoretical & Applied Linguistics. With nearly 1,000 students (over 770 undergraduates, 65 MPhil students and 140 PhD students), the Faculty is home to around 140 academic, research and professional services staff based on the University's Sidgwick Site, a short walk from the Centre of Cambridge.

This post supports the Spanish & Portuguese, and German Sections. The successful candidate will have supervisory responsibility for a Section Secretary, and will work closely with the other members of the Undergraduate Administration team, as well as others across the Faculty. They will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of operations, coordinating undergraduate teaching and examining, and providing general administrative assistance in support of other Faculty-wide and Section-specific activities, including acting as Secretary to the Board of Examiners. In addition, they will act as the Faculty's Disability Liaison Officer, working with the University's Accessibility and Disability Resource Centre to manage access arrangements for disabled students.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills with a successful track-record of contributing to the development and improvement of administrative systems and processes.  They will work well as part of a team and demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality services to our students and staff.  They will also be able to manage competing priorities and move between tasks at short notice to meet deadlines, without compromising quality.

The position is available immediately.
