KS1 Teaching Assistant:

Location: Birmingham

Salary: 83.33- 96.72

Start date: Beginning of September.

Monarch Education are recruiting for Teaching Assistants in the Birmingham area. We are looking for someone who is willing to work school hours (8:30-15:30) and is looking for either Full-time or Part-time work. We are looking for someone who has had previous experience working with children or in a care setting. This school will also accept those, who have education related degrees and have only done placements.

The Role:

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students across reception, year 1 and year 2. Your role will be to help assist the Class Teacher to deliver lessons, whilst also supporting students on a 1:1 and group basis.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children of any age in a previous role or work experience.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to create a supportive learning environment for children.
  • Passionate about promoting a child's well- being.
  • Ability to create a nurturing environment.
  • Safeguarding Level 1 or willing to complete our FREE online training course.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teaching staff to implement KS1 curriculum by planning and teaching lessons with groups of students, groups or individuals (when needed).
  • Build a goof rapport with Teachers, children and on occasion, parents.
  • May be asked to do some 121 work or small group activities to help support a child's individual learning.
  • Ability to be able to manage behaviour.
