Further Information:

The Purpose Of The Post Of CAS Installation & Maintenance Technician Is To:

Undertake the practical installation and maintenance of Dispersed community alarm equipment and related assistive technology products.  

Undertake the replacement and testing of lifeline units and pendants when required and all battery-operated equipment, this will include but not be limited to sensors for - smoke, fall epilepsy, bed, carbon monoxide, chair, door exit and alarm PIRS. 

Diagnose, rectify faults with lifeline and assistive technology equipment, wiring installation and Telephony equipment provided by third party suppliers such as BT, Sky, Virgin et al, including broadband (all types); where this impacts on service delivery.

Maintaining high standards of service delivery / performance, and achievement of set goals and objectives for the activities of the community alarm team.

Responsiblities:

Competently install dispersed alarm, assistive technology and all peripheral products

The fitting and wiring of equipment and or filters in private and public residences.

Programme / Re-programme lifeline units, pendants and all peripheral equipment using only the provided equipment, tools and technology whilst closely following industry and manufacturers guidelines.

Undertake the replacement and testing of lifeline units and pendants when required and all battery-operated equipment, this will include but not be limited to sensors for – smoke, fall epilepsy, bed, carbon monoxide, chair, door exit and alarm PIRS.

Demonstrate the correct operating procedure for all installed equipment to the service user (recipient); in a clear, comprehensive and sympathetic manner, and in form of what action will be taken by the control centre on receipt of the call.

Diagnose, rectify faults with lifeline and assistive technology equipment, wiring installation and Telephony equipment provided by third party suppliers such as BT, Sky, Virgin et al, including broadband (all types); where this impacts on service delivery.
