What is the opportunity

This role enables a motivated, driven, professional surveyor to join a dynamic property risk team who support the UK Bank's residential mortgage business which is focused on providing the best secured lending outcomes for its customers.

You will be joining a highly respected team (both internally and externally by other lenders, professional bodies, surveyors and valuers) which is at the forefront of property risk management for residential mortgage lending.

The team is forward thinking, dynamic, collaborative and supportive which respects work-life balance whilst ensuring that its role in the Bank thriving and fulfilling its strategy at the same time as supporting customers.

In this role you will:
  • Proactive Monitoring of Panel Company/Surveyor Service Standards, Professionalism and Residential Valuation Reporting.
  • Manage Panel Valuer Review Meetings both remotely and in person, building relationships whilst developing the Bank's Panel Valuer Structure.
  • Assist in the management and development of the Property Related Aspects of the Bank's Mortgage Lending Policy.
  • Oversight and monitoring of the quality and accuracy of valuation reports and AVM valuations to support prudent lending.
  • Deal with complaints and non-standard challenges.
  • Consideration and monitoring of all Credit Risks relevant to the business the Bank is undertaking.
  • Ensure compliance with Customer, Bank, Professional and Regulatory Standards to deliver the best Business Standards.
  • Provide support to the Chief Surveyor with representation on Professional Standard, Residential Mortgage Lender and other forums.

Residential property and market knowledge, residential valuation knowledge and technical skills.

Strong Audit skills to review both Panel Valuer and AVM outcomes to ensure compliance with the Property Related aspects of the Bank's Residential Mortgage Lending Requirements.

Strong Analytical Skills that can help shape and drive change and efficiencies within Property Risk.

Strong, clear and articulate communication skills.

The ability to self-motivate and work under own initiative, demonstrating an ability to solve problems whilst maintaining accuracy and providing excellent customer service.

Innovative, keeping abreast of market changes and constantly looking for new ways of doing things.

The ability to assimilate information and utilise it effectively.

Good business and organisational awareness.

Good relationship management skills.

The Property Risk Team within the Group Risk Division of the Bank provides residential property valuation knowledge, risk management and support to colleagues and customers throughout the life of a mortgage, from pre-application and application stages through all stages of the lifespan of the mortgage.
