Interview date: 26/09/2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Registry team at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). The RVC is the UK's largest and longest-established independent vet school and is a Member Institution of the University of London. The RVC offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in veterinary medicine, veterinary nursing and biological sciences and CPD programmes in veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing.

Following an internal restructure, the Registry is developing the team which manages the ethics applications for research and taught projects. We are seeking a part-time Ethics Administrator to work in the Registrar's office to improve service delivery in our fast-paced office environment. Working as part of a team with a second Ethics Administrator, this key role within Registry will administer the ethics approval processes within Registry. The post holder will process and check ethics applications for projects, distribute applications to ethical reviews and support administration. You will communicate with students, and staff to ensure a sustained level of service for all Registry ethics applications. The post holder will also support the Deputy Registrar and Registrar with project administration.

The successful post holder will have the ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of customers and have excellent customer focus. You will be able to work methodically, follow set processes and procedures and have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. A pro-active, flexible approach to your work is vital to deal with the competing demands and challenges of your daily work.

Educated to A-Level standard or with equivalent experience, the successful post holder will have the ability to make decisions and work as part of a team, and plan, manage and prioritise workload when under pressure to meet deadlines.

We offer a generous reward package and benefits including:

  • Competitive and attractive pension package
  • Generous 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays and concessionary days) pro-rata
  • On site café and restaurant
  • Free membership to the Fitness and Wellbeing Centre located on site
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • A range of family friendly policies, including adoption, maternity and paternity pay and leave

Informal enquiries relating to this role can be directed to:

Rebecca Wombwell, Deputy Registrar, rwombwell@rvc.ac.uk

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

The RVC values Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and therefore welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities. Balancing both the needs of the business with those of our staff, we will consider applications to work on a flexible basis.
