Business Support Manager

Crossreach's Children and Family Services offer essential support to help young people and their families thrive. Our early years services focus on nurturing infants and addressing developmental needs, while our family support includes parenting guidance and family counselling to strengthen relationships and resolve challenges.
We provide therapeutic interventions for children and young people facing emotional or behavioural difficulties, offering counselling and support to help them build resilience. Additionally, we assist young people transitioning to adulthood with life skills training, career guidance, and support for further education or employment.
Our commitment is to deliver compassionate, tailored care that empowers families and supports their journey towards a brighter future.
Are you ready for your work to make a real impact? Working in the Children and Families team at Crossreach offers more than just a job; it provides the opportunity to join an innovative and compassionate team dedicated to transforming lives across Scotland. Our therapeutic services, which cater to individuals from infancy through to adulthood, make a significant difference every day.
Given the strong team and client-focused aspects of these roles, a significant part of the working week will be based onsite in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh services.
Following the internal promotion of key team members, we are now seeking two proactive, quality-focused leaders to join us as Business Support Managers for our Counselling Services in Scotland. In these prominent roles, you will be responsible for the leadership and development of the regional business support teams. Your role will involve inspiring your team to deliver high-quality support to our counselling services and clinical teams.
This position is both varied and rewarding. Without you and your support team, our clinical teams would be unable to provide the essential services our clients require. Reporting to the Managing Coordinator, you will collaborate with the other Business Support Manager and Counselling Managers. Key responsibilities will include providing coaching and guidance to ensure the team delivers exceptional service to all clients, staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders. You will also work to foster a culture where the team feels engaged, valued, and recognised for their contributions.
In terms of management information, you will partner with the counselling management team to supply key data and commentary to support funding applications. Liaising with the counselling management team, you will provide management information, such as KPIs and outcomes, to support the sustainable development and growth of Counselling Services. Additionally, you will participate in key operational and strategic meetings and decision-making processes. Managing initial referrals and coordinating client waiting lists, while liaising closely with Clinical Managers and clients to keep them updated, will also be part of your role.
Your responsibilities will extend to improving client satisfaction and efficiency through process implementation. You will monitor and maintain administrative processes and procedures for all services, ensuring that systems are in place for regularly gathering and analysing service-user feedback and providing recommendations for improvements. Managing the Service Centres and facilities will also fall under your purview.
Financial planning is another crucial aspect of the role. You will work with the Managing Coordinator to manage the budgets for the services, regularly monitoring performance against budget expectations. Supporting the planning and delivery of new change or transformation initiatives and facilitating growth in income-generating activities will also be important.
Interviews for the roles will be held on Tuesday 3rd September 2024. Applicants invited to attend this stage are encouraged to make themselves available on these dates where possible.
What is important to us is finding the best people, so if you think that is you and want to discuss the roles in more detail, or for an informal chat, please contact Aileen Park at .uk
If you are enthusiastic about making a real difference in the lives of the children and families we support, we would love to hear from you. In addition to your enthusiasm, drive, and initiative, you should bring outstanding people management skills with a proven track record in a similar environment. Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities are essential to persuade and influence effectively. A solid grasp of financial management will ensure that services meet or exceed financial expectations while capitalising on income opportunities. Furthermore, you should be capable of operational leadership, ensuring continuity across the business support service and stepping in for the Managing Coordinator when necessary.
We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.
Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.
But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
