The School of Business and Law’s main objective is to advance teaching and research focused on responsible enterprise, business management and law that makes a real difference. We are proud that we gained Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation in July 2023.

As part of our expansion strategy, we are seeking to appoint a lecturer to join our diverse community of staff, who will be able to contribute to teaching our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in our Law subject group area and supervise our growing number of PhD students.

Our Lecturers are expected to: act as a personal tutor; use listening, interpersonal and pastoral care skills to deal with sensitive issues concerning students, appreciate the needs of individual students and their circumstances, and to refer students as appropriate to the specialist services which can provide further help.

We are looking for candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and an innovative approach to delivering the curriculum. The successful candidate will be expected to have

  • Up-to-date, sound knowledge of the subject including current professional/vocational developments and the range of generic skills required.
  • A strong commitment to excellence in teaching and an innovative approach to delivering the curriculum
  • Good IT skills and a clear commitment to embrace change and make effective use of IT for teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Ideally, you will have experience in higher education and hold a PhD (or near completion).  

We particularly welcome applicants with experience and interest in Equity & Trusts and Land Law. We encourage applications from staff who are research active.
