The Isle of Wight Register Office is looking for a full-time Ceremonies Officer to join our busy team.  You’ll be the main point of contact to put together ceremonies and will be expected to be exceptionally organised and have knowledgeable working practice of registration to help our couples put together the ceremony they dream of. You will also take the lead on arranging citizenship ceremonies and attendance at bridal fayres.

 

No two days are the same in this service and the work is exceptionally rewarding. Our team handles a wide range of enquiries from members of the public covering major life events such as births, deaths, and marriages so you will need to have empathy and sensitivity in all aspects of the job. It’s vital that our team can adapt to the needs of everyone using our service, ensuring everyone feels looked after and supported during these important events in their lives. 

 

As an integral part of this small and friendly team, you’ll demonstrate excellent customer service skills and behaviours as well as product and registration service knowledge when delivering to your customers. You will also need excellent ICT skills as we continue to work more digitally across the service.

 

If you are great at communicating face to face – both to small and large groups, with an excellent phone manner and sound ICT skills (diary management and email will be a large focus of the role) then we would love to hear from you.

 

You will need to:

•           Have a keen eye for detail

•           Be highly organised

•           Have the ability to work calmly under pressure

•           Have the ability to prioritise your own workload and work flexibly
