Manchester, United Kingdom The University of Manchester Full time

Your role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to drive the youth co-creation element of the #BeeWell programme in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton. #BeeWell is a youth-centred wellbeing programme. Our mission is to make young people’s wellbeing everybody’s business and to ensure that young people are at the heart of influencing changes in policy and practice.

As Youth Co-creation Project Lead, you will be responsible for championing youth participation across the #BeeWell programme, ensuring young people are central to the design and decision making of the programme.  You will coordinate our #BeeWell Youth Steering Group and work with other youth groups to develop youth-led narratives and responses to the #BeeWell findings, to enhance our work and improve young people’s wellbeing.

You will collaborate with colleagues across local authorities in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton (HIPS), the Integrated Care System, The University of Manchester, Anna Freud and the #BeeWell coalition of partners, to make young people’s wellbeing, everybody’s business.

You will be responsible for project managing and leading on all co-creation activities for #BeeWell in HIPS.

The Co-Creation Project Lead will ensure the #BeeWell programme listens and responds to young people, particularly those who are often left out of conversations around Mental Health and Wellbeing.

About you:

We are looking for someone who understands and has a passion for improving young people’s wellbeing, along with experience of working directly with young people using participatory approaches. You will be an advocate for youth voice, with experience of organising and facilitating meaningful opportunities for young people to influence decision making.

You will have experience of the successful management of projects, ideally within youth, health or education sectors, and significant experience of working in or liaising with schools or youth organisations.

You will be experienced in working with public groups from diverse backgrounds, working in a complex partnership environment and championing the views of young people with stakeholders.

You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding and experience of supporting teams to adhere to policies as well as supporting risk assessments.

Ideally, you’ll understand the inequalities experienced by young people that affect their wellbeing and support the #BeeWell ambition to reduce them by involving them in the conversation.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
