The role, based in a local community hub, will entail supporting the Deputy Clerk and Customer Service Officer in ensuring the smooth running of the office and the provision of high-quality customer service to residents, visitors, officers, and councillors.

Temporary Administration Assistant,

Role Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for visitors, phone calls, and emails to ensure the smooth running of daily operations at the Council Offices.
  • Deliver excellent office administration services, including filing, document management, photocopying, mail handling, procurement, and IT support to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist with inquiries regarding booking the Centre & Arts and Crafts room, addressing any questions or requests that may arise.
  • Take part in Fun day events as required and provide assistance and support as necessary.

You should have:

  • A solid educational background at GCSE Level, and proficiency in literacy and numeracy.
  • MS Office, internet use, software, and social media experience are also necessary.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety/Risk Assessment is useful.
  • Previous experience in Town/Community Council or local government is desirable
  • Candidates must be organised, and possess good communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates should understand and promote equal opportunities alongside the Council's activities.
