Southall, United Kingdom Villiers High School Full time

Villiers High School is looking to appoint a professional, self-motivated, pro-active and organised Pastoral Support Officer to work in a busy but rewarding pastoral environment. The successful candidate will provide mentoring and support to pupils, work closely as part of the behavior team and provide support to the Heads of Year.

Excellent IT skills and strong communication skills are essential for this role. Experience in a busy environment is highly desirable. Candidates must have the ability to undertake complex tasks and will receive training as required for the post. In this role, the successful candidate will undertake various pastoral duties.

The successful candidate will need to:

* Be resilient, flexible and demonstrate an ability to work in a busy environment

* Be methodical, pro-active and have a keen eye for detail

* Be able to plan, organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines

 In return you will receive:

* The support of committed, dedicated and friendly colleagues

* A school which is reflective and striving for continual improvement

Full details of the post can be found in the Recruitment Pack. Salary mentioned is pro-rata for term time only.

We offer:

·    A huge suite of professional learning opportunities in school and use our PMR system combined with staff aspirations to construct this. Staff are encouraged and supported financially to become examination markers and to carry out extra qualifications such as the NPQ* suite, Master’s Degrees and Doctorates. All teams belong to their professional subject association in order to continue developing their subject knowledge and pedagogy. Middle and Senior Leaders regularly meet with their counterparts from other schools in the local authority to collaborate and share best practice as part of the Ealing Learning Partnership. *National Professional Qualifications including NPQML, NPQSL and NPQH.

 ·        Staff are able to take one wellbeing day per term to spend as they wish on their wellbeing beyond the teachers’ terms and conditions as agreed by the London Borough of Ealing.

·        On Thursdays staff finish teaching early so they can meet and plan collaboratively with their departments and pastoral teams. Staff professional learning also takes place on this day as do other after school meetings and events such as parents evenings so that staff only ever have to plan child-care or a late finish one night of the week in the main. Where meetings or events run later in the evening we provide a meal for all staff. For further information on the perks of working at Villiers High School, please click here.

How to apply

Personal statements should be no more than one side of A4. Please note that the school does not accept CVs. Once completed, please submit your application by email to the HR team at HR@villiers.ealing.sch.uk.

We would welcome pre-arranged visits. Please contact HR as above to arrange a mutually convenient date and time.

Closing date: Friday 1st November 2024

Interview: W/C 4th November 2024
