The team designs and delivers Infrastructure solutions to enable product delivery and transformation. We work alongside Engineering Leads to understand application requirements in order to draw out infrastructure designs; ensuring compliance with the bank's patterns, standards and strategy. Once a design is created and internal teams and 3rd party suppliers mobilised we coordinate technical delivery to ensure your design is delivered to plan.

Our purpose is to enable, facilitate and transform infrastructure change for our customers. Ensuring our services are performant, secure, supportable, resilient, strategic and cost-effective.

In this role your accountabilities will include;

  • Technical escalation point for IEs and the VS labs/project teams

  • Resource planning & forecasting of Team Workload

  • Assist IEs and Project/Labs to remove blockers from delivery

  • Triage of new requirements with stakeholders, connectors and Security Engineering

  • Produce high-level cost-estimates to allow the business to determine appropriate strategy and funding

  • Meet regularly with Engineering Leads to discuss strategy, blockers and team funding

  • Have full accountability for designs produced by team IEs. Review and approve design artefacts and support IEs through governance processes

  • Understand current and future demand for VS deliverables applying Strategy and Architecture directives to provide design consultancy and direction

  • Take the design lead for major projects or initiatives which involve multiple IEs

About you;

You'll have first-hand experience of Infrastructure Design and governance and knowledge of Financial Markets systems and toolsets is essential for this role. Additionally you'll have demonstrable experience of technical team leadership and of senior stakeholder management. We'll also see evidence of your experience of conflict management in your application and experience of Cloud migration is desirable, but not essential.

Ideally you'll possess a PSM qualification or experience of working in an Agile environment and a Systems Thinking qualification or exposure to other lean methodologies.

You'll also be familiar with and passionate about engineering standard methodologies such as testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
