Glasgow, United Kingdom University of Glasgow Full time

The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 570 years, and today we are one of the world's top 100 universities.  We are delighted to have recently been awarded Scottish University of the Year by the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.

Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers.

Our Estates Directorate are entrusted with overseeing the management of the University’s historic estate, ensuring it’s legacy is conserved, and our facilities and spaces inspire our future world changers. The Estates Service Desk supports with the management of maintenance requests involving facilities and buildings across  all of our  campuses.A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estates Information Management System (EIMS) Manager to manage and develop the EIMS system that colleagues use for the operation management and reporting  of these  requests.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Support Services , the Estates Information Management System (EIMS) Manager will provide specialist support in information management within the EIMS and related systems. This will include:

  • Leading and assuring the effective management of the EIMS
  • Integrate continuous improvement in process design relative to the Estates data strategy.
  • Deliver specialist support in operating the EIMS to meet the Operational model in Estates.
  • Analysing and reporting output data trends from EIMS in support of best-in-class service delivery, working closely with the Service Desk Manager to provide data and trend analysis.
  • Managing interfaces with non-Estates systems e.g., Supply chain, CMIST Agresso etc.
  • Working with service areas within Estates to develop Data lead improvements in process management.

About you

With experience of working in a role supporting corporate systems, you will also have experience of troubleshooting system user issues and analysing data to inform decision making.

Key to the role are takeholder and relationship management skills, including the ability to manage customer expectations and provide user data feedback.

You will  be liaising with the System Delivery provider, the supply chain using the EIMS, the Framework contractor base, all Estates staff, as well as colleagues across the University who use the EIMS’ reporting functionality, as such you should possess  effective communication skills

The EIMS relies on agreed workflows of how enquiries and incidents are allocated and actioned. This role will be key in deciding what routes are critical and need to be adjusted or improved as part of the continuous improvement of the system. A detailed understanding of the principles and effective application of an Information Management System in relation to the management of properties or assets within the Portfolio is therefore essential.

Informal enquiries should be directed via email to David Harty david.harty@glasgow.ac.uk

Closing Date: 23:45 on Friday 10th May 2024

We believe that we can only reach our full potential through the talents of all. Equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our values. Applications are particularly welcome from across our communities and in particular people from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community, and other protected characteristics who are under-represented within the University.
