SEN Teaching Assistant (Phonics)

About Us

Located in Chesterfield, our school is committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for secondary students with SEN. We focus on individualized learning strategies to help each student achieve their potential, particularly in developing their literacy skills through phonics.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Work closely with secondary students to support their learning and development.

Implement teaching strategies to enhance students' understanding of the relationship between written symbols and sounds.

Use phonics to improve students' literacy skills.

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.

Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

Experience working with secondary students, preferably in an SEN setting.

Strong understanding of phonics and literacy development.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

Commitment to supporting the individual needs of students.
