BMS Commissioning Engineer

What you will do
Working alongside the customer, account manager, service and project teams the Senior Engineer will proactively identify risks and opportunities for the client, helping to shape energy strategies, developing roadmaps for future proofing systems and providing high level technical support to the project and service teams.
From a static state commission, the controls system and designated plant interfaces bringing the control system and plant to full operation such that it performs according to the project specification and designs.

As part of prime projects team member, the following key tasks will be performed:
Review the project specification and designs and identify any commission or software ability issues with the project managerValidate assumptions made during solution design. Build a detailed cost estimate and scope of work for assigned projects in conjunction with Operations. Assists in preparing proposals and other customer communication documentsWork to the projects software and commissioning requirementsPresent a positive attitude with the objective of improving customer satisfaction in all areasLiaise closely with the manager to highlight any operational problems during the course of the work.Use safe systems of workingEnsure factory acceptance tests/checks and commissioning test are performed and commissioning handover sheets completed. Produce systems handover documentation for the Operating and Maintenance manualsKeep current accurate records of commissioning progressDevelop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirementsCoordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installationSelect materials for assigned projectsLoad and commission system and network-level controllers as requiredValidate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractorsManage and completes the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required. Validate complete system function and resolves issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operationWhat we look for
Required
Valid CSCS site card & SSSTS certifiedExcellent verbal and written skillsGCSE 'O' level pass grade and/or electrical/electronic NVQ qualificationsExperience in creating/updating graphics and setting workstations and networks into operation is desirable though training will be given.Experienced in configuring controllers and actuators on Ahu's and terminal units.HVAC knowledge/experienceExperienced in fault finding in electrical starter /controls circuits and the setting into operation of starters and associated rotating plant.Experienced in the operation and setting into operation of variable speed drives.BMS Industry standards protocolsExperience working on small to medium size (£10K to £150K) existing Service projects and small construction site projectsWillingness to travel outside ScotlandWhat we offer
