Overview:
This position involves working on significant new construction projects, focusing on the implementation and commissioning of Schneider Electric's Building Management System (BMS). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a dedicated team under the guidance of the Lead Engineer, ensuring the successful design and execution of BMS solutions tailored to project specifications. This role offers a chance for rapid professional growth and increased responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and engineer BMS solutions in alignment with project requirements and specifications.
- Engage with clients, sales teams, and project managers to clarify project goals and provide technical insights during the pre-sales and bidding phases.
- Produce comprehensive engineering designs, including control strategies, network layouts, and equipment selection, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client requirements.
- Generate and review project documentation, such as functional specifications, technical drawings, and control narratives.
- Configure and program BMS controllers, sensors, and devices to facilitate smooth integration and operational functionality.
- Demonstrate proficiency in relevant BMS software and programming techniques.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to confirm optimal operation and performance.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and executing BMS projects.
- Expertise in BMS software platforms (e.g., Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure Building Operation, Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys) and related programming languages (e.g., BACnet, LonWorks).
- Familiarity with Schneider Electric products is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, and building automation protocols.
- Excellent analytical skills and the capability to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to client locations as necessary.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- HND/HNC in Building Services or Engineering.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Mechanical & Electrical, Building Services, or Electronics, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant vocational qualifications with industry training.
- Electrical qualifications are desirable but not essential.
