Role Purpose: responsible for monitoring student attendance, identifying and addressing patterns of non-attendance, and working closely with students, parents, and staff to promote regular and punctual attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and record student attendance, following up on absences and communicating with parents and carers as necessary
  • Identify patterns of non-attendance and work with students and their families to address underlying issues
  • Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to support students with attendance and welfare concerns
  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports on attendance and welfare issues
  • Provide guidance and support to students on welfare-related matters, signposting to relevant external agencies where necessary
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve attendance and promote student well-being
  • Liaise with external agencies and organizations to support students' welfare needs

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of attendance and welfare issues affecting young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance relating to attendance and welfare
  • A caring and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting the well-being of young people
  • Relevant qualifications in education, social work, or a related field (desirable)
