Vice President - Credit & Hybrid Solutions Team

To be based in the London Office
  • Has 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in private credit, special situations, leveraged finance or restructuring
  • Exposure to buy-side a plus - typically would be credit funds, principal investing groups (direct/opportunistic lending, special situations, etc.), or private equity
  • Experience in sourcing and leading the underwriting investment process including deal analysis, diligence, reviewing and negotiating documentation
  • Driven, curious, team player, adaptable to change, able to take initiative, and influence senior stakeholders
    Team Strategy:

    Team invests $1b-$2b directly per year globally across industries and investment structures, with position size of $100m+. The team is focused on both absolute return and maximizing relative risk-adjusted returns

    Evaluate opportunities across the capital structure from 1st lien debt to preferred equity

    Primarily focused on corporates and opportunistically will evaluate asset-backed/real-estate situations

    Team is lean with 2-3 people per deal and

    Core Functions/

    Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent, fundamental Credit research on a single name basis
Produce and communicate internal reports, investment memos, and proposals for internal review and investment decisions Create historical and projected financial models, analyze key financial and operational metrics Provide both top-down and bottom-up valuations of Credit and Credit-related products Provide direction to junior investment professionals Manage current portfolio investments in the Credit team as needed; Maintain a continual awareness of the industry, emerging trends and factors which influence the value of Temasek's assets and opportunities for growth
Qualifications/Capabilities/Experience
Tenacious with high energy levels and likes to take initiative; Keen analytical skills and the ability to quickly discern any qualitative and quantitative characteristics of a potential investment/ trade; High level of communication skills, specifically writing, and high EQ; Ability to manage multiple priorities and reporting ambiguities; High personal integrity and challenging of self and team; Ability to work in a diverse cultural environment.
