Contract: 1.0FTE/Open-ended
To support our continuing growth, we are seeking to appoint a new Lecturer in Nursing (Child), within the Department of Nursing and Community Health. The Department of Nursing and Community Health offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD programmes and modules in Nursing and Public Health. Our research has both a strong applied health focus, as well as educational evaluation, and our commitment to student focused, innovative and flexible learning strategies is supported by our state-of-the art facilities.
As a Lecturer in Nursing (Child) you will have a focus on providing high-quality learning and teaching that is underpinned by scholarly activity. We are recruiting a lecturer who is a Registered Nurse with the NMC (Child nursing field), with evidence of continuing professional development.
Lecturers are expected to contribute to the delivery and assessment of existing modules, supervision, and the enhancement of the student experience across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Prior experience of supporting student learning, teaching and assessment in higher education and/or within practice settings is essential. The Department of Nursing and Community Health promotes innovation in learning and teaching and, therefore, we are keen to appoint an individual with experience of e-learning and online environments. A higher education teaching qualification and/or Fellow status with AdvanceHE is desirable. The post holders will also be expected to contribute to ensuring curricula are current and compliant with internal and external regulatory frameworks.
As this role involves Regulated work with Adults and/or Children the successful candidate will require PVG Scheme membership. Please note that the appointments will be made on the first point of the salary scale (unless by exception).
