Job Description:

This position will be based on-site in Aldershot

The DXC AMPA Programme is responsible for the continued delivery and future growth of the Advanced Mission Planning Aid (AMPA) and associated products. Used widely within the RAF and various foreign Air Forces, AMPA brings together software and hardware components.

Responsibilities;

  • Maintaining an accurate record of all DXC managed assets
  • Evaluate and define the processes related to managing assets (or contributing to the definition of the process)
  • Performing audits of items in accordance with DXC policies and client requirements including on site hardware audits, monitoring 3rd party audits, and raising any discrepancies.
  • Report on asset audits, disposals and gold stock movements.
  • Coordination of any hardware/media disposals required.
  • Packing of all hardware and pallets suitable for transport, arranging shipment and movement/dispatch forms as required.
  • Accept delivery of items ensuring full inspection against paperwork, unpacking of hardware, quarantine and isolation where required.
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers regarding service support activities conducted on behalf of DXC. This may require attending meetings on-site or some travel to their location.
  • Providing purchasing or loan support as required, ensuring accurate and complete quotes.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • 2+ years plus experience in IT Hardware Asset Management or equivalent is a desirable, however we would consider beginners with right profile
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Previous experience manual handling of asset devices.
  • Experience in supporting and managing hardware assets.
  • Conversant with MS Office suite (Word / Excel etc.).

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Understanding of the Goods in / Out Processes, wrapping and shipping.
  • Knowledge of maintaining a Change Management Database's.
  • Understanding of IBM Rational suite (ClearCase / ClearQuest) (not essential)
  • ITIL Foundation.
