This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior IT Monitoring Engineer (NOC Analyst) to join a well-established Managed Services Provider near Tamworth.

Your primary focus will be to assist and support in the maintenance, monitoring and housekeeping of RMM software suite, monitoring infrastructure, servers and PC’s for clients. This role will be part of the dedicated network operations team, working alongside the BAU teams as part of a broader support services function. This would suit an individual who has experience working within an MSP environment and would like to move into a more proactive IT support role across infrastructure and network technologies.

Key Responsibilities within the position will include;

  • Working with colleagues and with the Lead NOC analyst, to develop usage of RMM platform
  • To monitor and act upon server and network alerts from our alert monitoring system and to carry out pro-active enhancements to alerting monitoring to ensure minimal downtime for clients
  • Reacting to any alerts generated by the RMM platform, escalating to the correct teams where required
  • Adherence to the permanent fix process, by ensure alerts are followed up with a service request to remove or reduce repeat/temporary/workaround fixes where possible
  • Ensure systems are patched, backed up and protected with agreed AV solutions, providing necessary information to Service Desk to allow efficient and effective management of Workstations and AD user accounts
  • To maintain all knowledge base related articles covering (but not limited to); infrastructure overview (inc. networking), backup systems, storage management etc
  • To provide and update detailed documentation for each client in a centralised location for sharing with other support staff
  • Provide a point of technical escalation to the ServiceDesk team where required and team at capacity
  • Provide an excellent level of customer service to internal and external customers

Experience Required

  • A proven background providing 3rd line support, ideally working for an IT Services business.
  • Experience supporting and administering Windows Desktop, Windows Sever, Office 365, Exchange and Active Directory.
  • Strong understanding of Virtualization (Vmware/Hyper-V), Firewalls, Switches/Routers, LAN/Wan, DNS, DCHP, backup’s, SAN technology.
  • Be a proactive problem solver with strong technical and customer-facing ability and a keen eye for detail.

  • 40 hours a week Monday to Friday.
  • Salary of up to £42,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Funded industry training and exams
  • Must be able to commute to client offices in Tamworth
