Our client, a leading independent manufacturer based in the Teesside area, are looking for a Process Engineer to join their established team. This role will suit someone with experience in a chemical or process industry organisation.

As Process Engineer, you will be leading the process engineering functions on site including the support of both new and existing plant and products. This includes initial scoping onto FEED studies, process engineering design, calculations, process safety and risk management.

The responsibilities of the Process Engineer:

The successful candidate will Plan and manage the installation & commissioning of new or modified plant. Ensure that process scale-up parameters are understood, and production is established safely and effectively to meet cost, time, EHS and quality targets.

Other requirements of the Process Engineer will include:

  • Lead the initial conceptual phase of capital projects in the development of strategies for expanding and providing capacity to meet the needs of the business.
  • Participate in major capital project teams and support the process engineering input to these projects to ensure that development, design, and data provision activities are completed to meet agreed targets of scope, cost and time.
  • Take a key role in process improvement activities and support manufacturing troubleshooting & optimisation.

About You

As Process Engineer, you will be a clear, articulate and confident communicator with a degree qualification in Chemical or Process Engineering.

Other requirements include:

  • Over 5 years experience working in a chemical manufacturing process industry organisation.
  • Chartered Engineering status with a recognised professional body.
  • Capable of working to deadlines and milestones with minimum supervision.
  • Evidence of effective leadership exposure and project ownership
