We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our committed team in an SEN school in the London Borough of Bromley. This role is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong commitment to supporting and empowering students with special educational needs.
Deliver Tailored Education: Design, adapt, and deliver lessons tailored to the unique learning needs of students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs.
Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), setting realistic but ambitious targets to support each student's development.
Collaboration with Support Staff: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's learning and personal development.
Regularly assess and record student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed, and provide feedback to parents, guardians, and the senior leadership team.
Implement and uphold the school's behavior policy, using positive reinforcement and specialized strategies to support students' emotional and social needs.
Continuous Professional Development: Stay informed of best practices and new SEN teaching strategies, participating in relevant training and workshops to enhance your professional skill set.
Parental Engagement: Maintain positive and open communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and collaborating on goals.
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
Experience: Previous experience working in an SEN setting, with a track record of adapting teaching for diverse needs and demonstrating patience, creativity, and empathy.
Skills: Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, particularly for ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs; A genuine dedication to improving educational outcomes for students with SEN, fostering their independence and self-confidence.
