The successful candidate will have proven experience, managing and delivering communications/PR programmes and activities for high-profile brands or organisations within the motorsport or automotive landscape.
The candidate will thrive on multi-tasking across numerous clients and projects in a fast-paced environment and display exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills both spoken and written. This role requires world-class delivery; with high amounts of written output and event activation – attention to detail and precision are essential for this role.
The candidate will be comfortable writing press releases, FAQ documents, talent briefing documents, developing press packs as well as managing all aspects of media relations. Global media contacts within the world of automotive, motorsport and sponsorship would be favourable.
A strong interest and knowledge of up-to-date media activities and trends, including social media platforms, is essential and experience of media, analysis and measurement, both traditional and new, would be beneficial.
As part of a small team delivering globally, a willingness/flexibility to be involved in every element of the programme is essential; as is an energetic, enthusiastic and “can do” team attitude.
This candidate will gain experience across the many facets of sponsorship activation and will work with and on behalf of numerous internal stakeholders as well as other external agencies and suppliers. The candidate will report into the Account Director and will be responsible for managing any junior members of the team and their workload where necessary. Key responsibilities include:
- Take full responsibility for your clients and ensure the activations are carried out as per the plan
- Manage and ensure the day-to-day running of the account to ensure it delivers on time, to budget and is well organised
- Produce measurable results as per the targets set and agreed by the client
- Curate, manage and execute creative activations and content of value to both traditional and social media
- Full quality control over output
- Full quality control of job management/documentation and processes (budgets, SOW, plans, logistics etc.)
- Lead on all media relations elements
- Competent in all written communications, such as press releases, emails, internal newsletters, FAQs, stakeholder briefing documents etc.
- Lead onsite events, ensuring the preparation is well organised and all documentation is in place to brief other members of the team
- Managing and leading regular internal meetings with your team, ensuring all are clear on tasks and priorities aligned with the overall plan
- Support with leading creative sessions, writing client responses, PPT presentations and reports for the client / Crunch as required
Candidate requirements:
- Keen motorsport follower ideally, but an interest in the business of sport is a must
- Experience delivering comms sponsorship activation including but not limited to: comms strategy, message development, content creation and development, media management, crisis comms management, press kit creation, press release writing, driver briefings, Q&As, content library management, digital and social activations etc.
- Experience working in high profile motorsport or automotive industries
- Experience leading and managing agency account teams
- Extensive experience creating presentations and PPT decks
- Exceptional copy writing and proofing skills
- Experience presenting to high-profile stakeholders
- Excellent client management skills with a proven track record of providing counsel to senior clients and influencing stakeholders
- Experience delivering digital and social programmes
- Experience managing and leading on live comms activations and media events
- Experience managing media announcements
- Experience working with and briefing high-profile, well-known individuals (talent/drivers)
- An understanding of brand guidelines and content approvals
- Proficient with Microsoft Office particularly excel and PPT
- A competent user of social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn etc).
- A people person; able to build trusted relationships with the team, our clients, media and key stakeholders
- Track record of delivering comms led activations on a global stage (e.g. press launches, content creation, driver days etc.)
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker with an ability to use data to inform all decisions
- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working on long term global comms campaigns using both traditional, social media and content
- Experience and confident talking to media
- Ability to demonstrate their knowledge of up-to-date media trends and activities
- Proactivity; make recommendations to the agency on comms best practice
- Experience of measurement of media coverage
- An interest in content production and an understanding and knowledge working with production agencies on aspects such as planning, filming and editing content
- Be a people person to forge relationships with both clients, media as well as suppliers
- Experience with project management processes and account budget management
- Desire to constantly learn new things and improve on current methods
- Ability to work in a variety of media, meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust as circumstances change
- Support with leading creative sessions, writing client responses, PPT presentations and reports for the client / Crunch as required
- Organised with good time management, both independently and when working as part of a team
- Calm and collected under pressure and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Keen attention to detail and highly solutions orientated
- Desire to constantly learn new things and improve on current methods
- Ability to manage junior team members and coordinate their workload
- Confident to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the company (with the ability to manage upwards and downwards)
- Ability to speak another language desirable
