Are you a highly experienced technical expert in large-scale civil infrastructure estimation and construction management, seeking a Bid Construction Manager role focused on major Irish projects? NES Fircroft has been exclusively retained to support a world-leading infrastructure services provider who is seeking a leader to initially support the Port of Rosslare (PoR) bid, with subsequent opportunities potentially including Metrolink. Starting in London before moving to Dublin, this role requires taking full responsibility for all construction activities within tenders, providing key technical estimates, and driving innovation to enhance construction efficiency and profitability for the Irish bid pipeline. As the new Bid Construction Manager, some of your key responsibilities will be: Estimation & Technical Expertise: Act as a key technical expert, providing comprehensive estimates to the design and construction teams, and owning all construction activities, including input into head contracts and subcontracts. Strategy & Innovation: Collaborate with the bid team on strategic business planning, identifying complex construction risks/opportunities, and fostering innovation by introducing new work practices and materials to enhance efficiency. Construction Management Framework: Develop a best-in-class construction management framework for tendering, ensuring transparency in time, cost, and profit across PoR and/or Metrolink bids. Coordination & Compliance: Coordinate with the tender design team to ensure planned changes are acceptable and in accordance with client specifications, and support pre- and post-design/construction development phases. Team Leadership & Support: Support the Bid Project Director in developing the winning strategy, mentoring UKIE bidding team members, and coordinating with the Madrid Bidding Team and JV Partners. To be successful as the Bid Construction Manager, you must have significant experience in major infrastructure estimation and multi-disciplinary technical environments. We are looking for candidates with: Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Experience: 15 years’ experience in an estimation role in Water, Ports/Maritime, and/or Tunnelling and Rail infrastructure industries. Sector Exposure: Solid exposure to a commercial construction environment with multi-disciplinary technical experience, ideally on large-scale, complex infrastructure projects globally. Management Skills: Demonstrated experience managing multi-faceted major construction compliance and regulatory requirements. Contractual Acumen: A good understanding of NEC contracts and strong contractual/legal acumen to interpret and negotiate terms pre-contract, supported by the legal team. Relevant Skills & Competencies: Technical Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of how to measure civil engineering works and strong awareness of technical competencies like Contract Administration, Planning and Programming techniques (Primavera P6), and Quality Assurance within major civil engineering projects. Leadership & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong client-focus. Must be a good leader and negotiator with an excellent understanding of construction principles and the relationship between delivery and commercial functions. Risk & Stakeholder Management: Ability to deal confidently and calmly with conflict, manage competing priorities (including joint venture dynamics), and lead the client relationship through varying project stages. If you are a highly motivated, technically astute construction leader ready to begin in London and transition to a challenging and rewarding role in Dublin, focused on securing and delivering major Irish infrastructure projects, we encourage you to apply.
