About you 

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with experience in security operations centre, (SOC2), the implications of ISO 27001, NIST or similar security technical and operational role is preferred. This role will join our Engineering team and will report directly to the Head of Engineering. This role will not have any direct reports and will be based in the Stockport office with a hybrid working model. 

Summary of Role 

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our systems and data against cyber threats. Your primary responsibilities will involve monitoring, analysing, and mitigating security risks across our network infrastructure and SaaS platforms, while adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards. 

You will assess and update how we identify the risks in our environment (vulnerability management and understanding the risk landscape) and look after our incident response plan, how we deal with incidents, and how we recover from them.

Ownership and Impact 

  • Provide technical expertise in cyber security, responding to and resolving security incidents promptly. 
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect our organisation's computer systems, networks, and data. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify security vulnerabilities and deliver high quality solutions to cyber security issues 
  • Utilise security tools and technologies to monitor and analyse network traffic for signs of suspicious activity. 
  • Document security incidents, investigations, and resolutions using ticketing systems. 
  • Prioritise and manage multiple security tasks concurrently, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary. 
  • Adhere to change management processes and comply with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for incident response and resolution. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and documentation. 
  • Stay informed about emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to proactively enhance our security posture. 
  • Actively participate in applying Cyber Security best practices to Product Development Projects both technical and from a processes point of view. 
  • Analyse potential data-loss breaches to determine their impact and root cause 
  • Act as the DPO for the organisation. 

The duties and responsibilities of the role may vary and change depending on the AeroCloud business needs. 

What are we looking for? 

  • At least 2 years of experience in a cyber security role 
  • Proficiency in SaaS security principles and practices, with the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and threats. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate security incidents and propose effective solutions. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 
  • A customer-centric mindset, prioritising the protection of sensitive data and ensuring a seamless user experience. 
  • Self-motivation and initiative, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security risks. 
  • Knowledge of Windows-based systems and networking technologies is advantageous, as well as experience and certification in the AWS security pathway. 
  • Knowledge of cyber security frameworks (e.g., SOC, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements
