Due to the recent recategorisation to a Category B Remand Prison, we have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic/Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Brixton.
HMP Brixton is now a Category B male prison since April 2025 housing men on remand. Our patients needs will vary greatly but there will be a focus on mental health, substance misuse and early days in custody.
3 long days a week
Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
As a Paramedic, your responsibilities will vary. Provide outstanding evidence based case to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them - focussing on emergency and unplanned care to patients with both primary care and acute care needs.
Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
Playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Qualified Paramedic
Proven post-registration ambulance experience
Evidence of continued professional development
Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments or Minor injuries / illness
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
