Trading Operations Specialist - Permanent - FIX, Trade Support, Front Office - London

Trade Operations Specialist urgently sought for a leader in the world of Electronic Trading.

Are you passionate about the fast-paced world of trading? We're looking for a motivated and experienced Trading Operations Specialist to join a leading Trading house, where you'll play an important role supporting the front office desks across the UK and European markets. A client-facing position, you'll collaborate closely with Traders, Compliance, Sales & Marketing, Product Management, Operations, and Technology teams on a global scale.

This will be a Hybrid role with expectation to attend the office at least 3x per week.

Role:

  • Provide expert advice to clients on trading venues and products, including market microstructure.
  • Deliver technical and trading support to clients and internal teams, focusing on electronic trading products.
  • Be the go-to person for key issues related to trading, messaging, risk, and cross-department coordination.
  • Communicate critical market events to internal desks, stakeholders, and external clients.
  • Offer front-line support for electronic trading infrastructure, including FIX protocol channels and networking.
  • Engage with senior management, traders, and clients in a high-volume transaction environment.
  • Monitor algorithmic trading activity in real-time for any signs of disorderly trading, taking action when necessary.
  • Ensure real-time monitoring of trading systems to maintain orderly market function.
  • Work closely with the technology development team to oversee project coordination and change management.

  • Technical expertise, including experience with FIX protocols.
  • A strong client focus with the ability to manage high-pressure situations.
  • Proactive mindset with a keen eye for business-critical issues.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of common trading strategies and European securities markets.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to simplify complex workflows.
