Our client, a leading insurance agency who are part of a larger group of business has been providing exceptional service and coverage to individuals, families, and businesses in the United Kingdom are seeking a Claims Handler to join their team in Billericay due to substantial and sustained growth. As the Claims Handler you will be responsible for achieving excellence in claims handling, through a customer focused culture which is built on effective and efficient communication and procedures. To ensure that claims are handled efficiently and that payment for valid claims is made to policyholders, whilst being vigilant and aware of potential fraudulent activity. You may be required to coordinate third party services that may be required by policyholders following an accident or incident, and should take pride in working in an effective, efficient way being mindful of your client’s circumstance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to effectively manage a claim from start to settlement
  • Provide high quality advice and service to clients
  • Processing new insurance claims notifications
  • Collecting accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim
  • Analysing a claim made by a policymaker
  • Guiding policyholders on how to proceed with the claim
  • Contacting third party services as and when required.
  • Answer the telephone in a polite and professional manner, dealing with the query as appropriate and gathering relevant information from the customer and entering it into the Company computer systems, as appropriate. Completing all associated postal work / correspondence and diary work in an accurate and timely manner with the overall aim of managing the claim effectively from start to settlement.
Key Requirements:
  • Knowledge and experience in handling Personal Lines claims, Commercial Claims, Property, Liability and Motor Fleet
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Polite telephone manner
  • Confident with all relevant MS office packages,OGi and Acturis systems
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
