Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit a Design Project Manager to work on our Central Bedfordshire contract in Dunstable

Reporting to the Design and Construction Manager you will be working as part of a small team helping with delivery of highway designs and major scheme delivery. This role also offers a challenging and unusual opportunity to work as part of an integrated design and operational (construction) team.

The Central Bedfordshire contract commenced in April 2023 and is for an initial 7 years, with the potential to extend for a further 3 years. It covers term maintenance, design and construction up to given thresholds.

As the Design Project Manager your duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Oversee and project manage the delivery of highway designs prepared by engineers and technicians.
  • Planning, controlling, monitoring and reporting of projects,
  • Client Management
  • Resource Target Costing for projects
  • Project commercial and delivery control
  • Risk Management
  • Procurement of s[specialist design services from outside organisations

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Project Management experience within Highways Infrastructure
  • Computer literate particularly with packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word and MS Project and/ or Asta Project planner.
  • Experience of Highways Infrastructure Engineering environment
  • Evidence of previous project management roles and responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of resource planning and programming
  • Evidence of managing design teams to achieve client time, cost and quality expectations.
  • Experience pf delivering projects to time and cost.
  • Environmental Awareness
  • UK/EEC driving licence

Desirable:

  • Sound knowledge o Highway Agency standards and/or Local Authority procedures.
  • NEC Conditions of Contract construction experience.
