Milestone Infrastructure is actively seeking a Highway Design Project Leader to contribute to our ongoing projects.
In this role, you will report directly to the Design and Construction Manager and collaborate with a dedicated team focused on the execution of highway design projects and significant scheme implementations. This position presents a unique opportunity to engage with both design and operational teams.
The current contract is structured for an initial term with possibilities for extension, encompassing maintenance, design, and construction within specified parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the execution of highway designs created by engineers and technicians.
- Plan, control, monitor, and report on project progress.
- Engage in client relationship management.
- Conduct resource target costing for projects.
- Ensure project commercial viability and delivery oversight.
- Implement risk management strategies.
- Procure specialized design services from external entities.
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
- Proven project management experience in Highways Infrastructure.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project or Asta Project Planner.
- Experience in a Highways Infrastructure Engineering context.
- Demonstrated history of project management roles and responsibilities.
- Familiarity with resource planning and scheduling.
- Experience in managing design teams to meet client expectations regarding time, cost, and quality.
- Track record of delivering projects within budget and on schedule.
- Environmental awareness.
- Valid UK/EEC driving license.
Desirable Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Highway Agency standards and/or Local Authority procedures.
- Experience with NEC Conditions of Contract in construction.
