*Supervise and direct the clinical work of junior staff and psychology students within the psychology department.
* Deliver staff training, awareness sessions, and advice to colleagues on the cognitive, emotional, and behavioural implications of acquired brain injury, and develop, implement, and monitor strategies to facilitate learning and manage client behaviour.
* Initiate and participate in formal research projects, publishing findings as appropriate.
* Support the Psychology team and members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) as required.
* Represent the service in clinical and non-clinical meetings and deliver presentations or participate in training sessions.
* Stay updated with developments in the field of brain injury rehabilitation.
* Assess and manage mental capacity and risk issues in collaboration with the Lead Psychologist and wider MDT.
* Requirements of the Clinical Psychologist/Counselling Psychologist:*
* Doctoral level training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
* Up to date HCPC registration/ or for newly qualified clinical psychologists, due for registration once course is complete.
* Neuropsychology, counselling, psychotherapy, or behaviour management.
* Experienced in the use of neuropsychological assessment to inform care planning.
* Experience working with people who have an acquired brain injury / in a neuro-rehab setting or community-based neuro setting.
* Experience facilitating psycho-education or psychological therapy groups.
You will lead a specialised team in a cutting-edge rehabilitation centre, providing essential services that significantly impact the lives of those with physical and learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries.
