Southern Water is embarking on a bold journey to install Smart Meters across our network — a strategic move that will help us and our customers reduce water abstraction, cut carbon emissions, and improve financial efficiency. But that’s just the beginning. We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented individual to join our Smart Operations Centre. This role is to cover a period of Maternity Leave and is central to transforming how we engage with customers, identify leakage, and drive down water consumption — all while delivering an exceptional customer experience. What You’ll Be Doing Accurately process and manage smart meter exchange data. Collaborate with internal teams and our Alternative Metering Service (AMS) Partner. Support inbound customer queries and ensure smooth, timely resolutions. Analyse data to spot trends and drive performance improvements. Help shape the future of smart water operations through insight and innovation. What You’ll Bring Precision in data entry and validation. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. A passion for customer service and operational excellence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data processing tools. Experience in customer service, with bonus points for utility sector knowledge.
