Dunbar Education is thrilled to be recruiting on behalf of a great primary school in Northampton for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in Behaviour Support and Autism Support. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of students who require tailored support in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant with a focus on Behaviour and Autism Support, you will play a crucial role in helping students with diverse needs thrive in the classroom. Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo, and external specialists, you'll provide one-to-one and group support, implementing effective strategies that enhance learning and promote positive behaviour.
Provide direct support to students with autism and behavioural challenges, tailoring interventions to meet individual needs
Monitor and document student progress, offering insights and feedback to inform ongoing support and interventions
Experience working with children with autism and behavioural needs, ideally in a primary school or SEN setting
A strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and effective behaviour management techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach to supporting students
The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a cohesive support plan
