Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) keeps the nation and everyone in it safe from all manner of threats. As those threats evolve, so do we. That’s even more the case when it comes to technology. Our dedicated team implements improvements and new tech capabilities within the policing community and national partners. As such, it’ll give you insight into a range of different environments — and open up a wide choice of future career paths.

You’ll draw on your ability to interpret and communicate technical information to and from clients and suppliers. In effect, you’ll be providing a Program Delivery Office (PDO) function within ICT.

We’ll look to you to provide best practice, advice and guidance to projects and programmes. It will see you identify risks and issues and offer quality assurance activities and tracking progress against the programme plan.

At the same time, you’ll raise the standards of project and programme management through a multi-disciplined environment and develop relationships that actively improve the quality of up-to-date project information. Championing effective processes and best practice initiatives, you’ll lead by example, give expert advice to colleagues, and support the team.

You’ll bring us experience in ICT programme/project support backed by a good knowledge of Portfolio Delivery Office and Programme Management Office. In-depth competence of MS Office will be key, and you’ll be used to working in and understanding secure technology-based projects and programmes in a business change environment.

Familiar with governance and applying standards across multiple projects, you should have a talent for managing project risks, issues, and assumptions. Beyond this, you’ll have stakeholder management skills and experience of Secure ICT environments.

Vetting

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.

Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) OR Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
