Interim Head of Environment, Health, and Safety

Jackson Hogg is thrilled to partner with a global industry leader to appoint an experienced Head of HSE. This pivotal role is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic professional to shape and elevate our client's health, safety, and environmental (HSE) strategies on a global scale.
As a key player in an international corporation committed to excellence, you'll be instrumental in fostering a culture of safety and sustainability across diverse operations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Design and implement robust HSE strategies that align with company goals and industry best practices.
- Provide strategic HSE guidance to senior management, ensuring proactive risk management and compliance.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Ensure global compliance with all HSE regulations.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities.
- Implement effective risk mitigation measures to minimize incidents and emergencies.
Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Lead HSE awareness initiatives to engage and motivate employees.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of HSE programs.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting HSE performance and areas for improvement.
Supplier and Contractor Management:
- Evaluate the HSE performance of suppliers, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with procurement to engage HSE-conscious partners.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in HSE management systems and processes.
- Drive innovation in HSE practices to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior HSE leadership role, preferably within a multinational corporation.
- Extensive knowledge of global HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, develop strategies, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated success in driving cultural change and promoting a safety-conscious environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
