We are seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to join the team at their new Fife hotel that will open in 2025. This role will drive revenue by effectively selling all aspects of the hotel within the local, national and international market place to support the delivery of the sales and revenue budget. This will be primarily through proactively targeting and securing new business across all market segments, with a focus on the luxury golf travellers and driving high end leisure clients to the hotel. Key responsibilities include:

  • Take ownership of the pre-opening and opening plan sales and marketing plans, taking responsibility for driving and delivering the agreed strategies.
  • Research the competitor landscape to obtain market and rate intelligence. Gain an understanding of business trends, the competition and their key accounts, to identify potential business to target and support positioning.
  • Actively seek, identify, secure and contract new and repeat business for all areas of the business, across all market segments, with a particular emphasis on the luxury group segment.
  • Promote the hotel and restaurant for exclusive use and social events.
  • Establish, build and manage relationships with the key high end inbound golf group operators, concierge and lifestyle agents.
  • Ensure effective data capture and database management processes and systems are in place for the hotel and restaurant.
  • Identify and target local leisure attractions to develop mutually beneficial affiliations and partnerships.
  • Plan and execute local marketing campaigns, producing hotel and restaurant sales and marketing collateral.
  • Manage and implement the hotel and restaurant’s social media strategy and activity.
  • Manage and ensure the hotel and restaurant’s online presence, including the hotel website, the restaurant website (if applicable) and all third party sites that the hotel and restaurant appears on.
  • Manage the pre-opening and then on-going PR campaign for the hotel and restaurant.
  • Work with the General Manager to build and maintain strong relationships within the local community.
  • Work with Visit Scotland and Visit Britain to build relationships and maximise opportunities to attend events, raising the profile of the hotel.
  • Represent the hotel at seminars, business events etc. both nationally and internationally to maximise networking opportunities to raise the profile/awareness of the hotel.
Skills and experience required:
  • Sales and marketing experience in a similar role required
  • Luxury hotel experienced preferred
  • New opening experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the golf market preferred
