Consilium Recruit are proudly supporting a leading business within hydrogen and dual fuel applications for a number of sectors including energy storage, marine propulsion, and other propulsion systems. They are seeking a Dyno Test Engineer on a permanent basis, with the role being based in Essex.

Commutable from: Brentwood, Southend-on-Sea, Chelmsford, London

The Role

The Dyno Test Engineer will support dynamometer test-based project activities, including the removal, replacement, adjustment of any equipment or systems as required.

You will define and procure necessary hardware/software to support projects and use computer-based systems to produce the necessary reports for evaluation and/or validation.

The Dyno Test Engineer will ensure all equipment is serviced, maintained, and calibrated to the required standards for certification and set up and adapt the dynamometer automation system for each application following engineering best practices and customer specifications, e.g.: configuration of system channels, filters, combustion analysis system, calibration tools.

You will specify and orient the instrumentation of internal combustion engines and related components and check and sign off test data and maintenance of data accessibility. Additionally, you will debug and arrange support for solution and test cell equipment and ensure all Health and Safety Procedure are always adhered to.

This is a site-based role offering excellent progression and development.

The Person

The successful candidate for the role of Dyno Test Engineer will possess experience in engine testing and ideally experience with dyno automation systems (A&D iTest desirable.

Any experience of hydrogen systems is an advantage but not required with experience with Combustion analysis systems (A&D CAS) being desirable.

The Dyno Test Engineer will have knowledge in script writing/programming and experience with data analysis (AVL Concerto desirable). Experience with calibration tool e.g.: ETAS INCA, ATI Vision packages is highly desired for the role in addition to knowledge of common communication protocols and interfaces such as Serial RS232, ASAP3, AK, CAN.

The Dyno Test Engineer will have experience using MS Excel and working knowledge of basic electronics.

You will need excellent communication skills for the role both written and spoken to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
