Role Description

This is a full-time role for a new Nursery chain based in Hertfordshire.

For the first 3-6 months, the Nursery Manager will work closely with the board of directors to form a business plan, outline policy and procedures, and cement the approach to opening a new Nursery in Hertfordshire. Your experience in the management of Nurseries and the relevant compliance and legal requirements will be vital to your ongoing success in guiding the business and avoiding common pitfalls.

For the right candidate, this role will enable rapid growth into a regional role supporting day-to-day business operations and growth.

Once the first premises are established, the nursery manager will be responsible for the nursery's day-to-day operations. This includes:

  • Overseeing Staff: Recruiting, training, and managing nursery staff to maintain high standards of care and education.
  • Curriculum Development: Designing and implementing a robust curriculum that meets the developmental needs of children and adheres to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring all operations comply with Ofsted regulations, health and safety standards, and other relevant legal requirements.
  • Financial Management: Managing budgets, invoicing, and ensuring the financial health of the nursery.
  • Parental Engagement: Building strong relationships with parents and caregivers, addressing their concerns, and providing regular updates on their child's progress.
  • Marketing and Enrollment: Promoting the nursery to attract new enrollments and maintaining a strong presence in the local community.
  • Quality Assurance: Continuously monitoring and improving the quality of care and education provided.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as a Nursery Manager or in a similar leadership role within early childhood education.
  • In-depth knowledge of EYFS and other relevant frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • A passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
