About Network Rail
Join Network Rail - Where People and Connections Matter
At Network Rail, we're dedicated to keeping passengers and freight moving safely and efficiently across the country. We believe that our people are at the heart of what we do, and every role plays a vital part in building a better, more connected railway. We're committed to creating a diverse, inclusive workplace that reflects the communities we serve. We value flexibility and understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance. As a Disability Confident Leader, we'll do everything we can to accommodate any needs throughout the recruitment process.
As a Project Manager within the Kent Route Infrastructure Services Delivery (ISD) Team, you will play a key role in delivering Performance and Resilience (P&R) projects that directly contribute to the safety, reliability, and sustainability of the railway network. You will be responsible for managing projects through all stages of the lifecycle—from concept and planning through to delivery and close-out—ensuring that each initiative meets its objectives in a safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible manner.
You will also support the successful delivery of the wider ISD P&R portfolio, working collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners to drive continuous improvement and deliver meaningful outcomes for passengers, freight users, and the communities we serve.

Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, with the ability to create and maintain insightful reports that support data-driven decision-making.
Lead the delivery of individual projects or project components, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This includes adherence to the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), Network Rail standards, and relevant legislation.
Provide a professional and consistent project management service, using performance indicators and reporting tools to monitor progress and support decision-making.
Manage the development and implementation of change projects, ensuring compliance with internal governance and industry best practices.
Identify, assess, and manage tactical risks and changes throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring proactive mitigation and stakeholder engagement.
Champion a safe and inclusive working environment, supporting health, safety, and wellbeing across all project activities.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project management plans, ensuring clarity of scope, roles, and responsibilities.
Take ownership of project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are used efficiently.
Provide regular, transparent progress updates to the Programme Manager, including reporting on risks, issues, and opportunities.
Demonstrated experience in project management, ideally within infrastructure, engineering, or transport sectors.
Experience in project safety management, with a commitment to creating safe and inclusive environments.
Working knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
